About Chandler Dey
Chandler Dey, MS, RD, LDN
Welcome! I’m Chandler Dey and I’m thrilled to share a little about my own health journey.
I’ve had a love-hate relationship with food nearly all my life. As a kid, I was always a little heavier than my friends. As I got older, I became obsessed with everything I put into my body.
In high school, I used that obsession, that curiosity, to learn everything I could about how food fuels the body. I became more physically active as a runner and lacrosse player and although I lost some weight and was looking and feeling better, I still struggled with a distorted body image and less than stellar eating habits.
In college, things got worse. I gained back the weight I’d lost plus a few extra pounds. My relationship with food was out of balance and out of control. And so was I.
My senior year in college is when I finally connected the dots and saw how harmful restricting my diet and obsessing about food was to my physical and mental wellbeing. It was exhausting. That is when I decided to take a chance on myself, make a change, and invest in my relationship with food. And that’s when the magic happened.
I learned how to savor food rather than feel guilty keeping a mental tally of how many calories I had to make up.
I learned how to listen to my body and give it the food it needs and wants.
I stopped worrying about when I could have so-called cheat foods and instead discovered how to make all food fit in to my day.
I grew to love and appreciate what food did for my body.
And eventually, these new habits and new ways of thinking helped me regain physical and mental balance, achieve my ideal weight, and develop better overall health and wellbeing.
I can help you do the same.
My road wasn’t always easy, but it was 100% worth it. Along the way, I’ve come to understand how to create a healthy relationship with food that is less about restricting and dieting and more about pleasure, joy, balance, and happiness. If this sounds like you, I get it. I’ve been there and I know what it’s like to feel as though you’ve “tried everything” but you’re still struggling. I know the struggle and I know how to get past it.
As a registered dietitian and nutritionist, my philosophy is simple: I believe in what I teach because it’s what I practice in my own life.
You can do this. I know you can. Let’s schedule a time to chat. We’ll talk about where you are now and (most importantly) how we can work together to get you where you want to be.
What Our Clients Say
“Chandler doesn’t follow the one size all methodology that you often see in the nutrition world. She took the time to sit with me, to listen to my concerns, my challenges, and my constraints due to my health conditions. She spent time educating me and summarized our meeting with notes and actionable goals for me to follow over the coming weeks. Her approach allows you to navigate nutrition with ease and makes it seem less like work and more like a lifestyle.
Ensuring this lifestyle fits you and your day to day without totally disturbing your idea of normal. Our follow up conversation reviewed our previous meetings goals, discussed new findings and things I did and didn’t like, and again followed with notes and a new set of goals. I love her and her work. I can tell she has a real passion for this and would recommend her to any family member, friend, or stranger.”
